Fitted cloth diapers are one of the most absorbent options available on the diaper market. Fitted diapers are usually made from natural fibers, like cotton, bamboo, or hemp (though some have inner layers of microfiber) and have no waterproof layer. Because of this design, here are a few important things to keep in mind:
- These diapers will need to be washed 5 to 6 times before their first use to fully prep them (they get more absorbent the more they’re washed).
- They will not be waterproof on their own, so they will need to have a cover put on over them.
- They will offer a greater amount of absorbency than most other types of diapers.
- Because of the great absorbency levels, some can be bulky.
- Can be slow to dry.
Even though a fitted needs a cover like a prefold or flat would, it is designed in a way that you can put them on just like a regular diaper instead of wrapping or folding. This makes it much quicker to put on, especially for a wiggly baby.
Fitteds can be used at any time of the day, but my favorite use for them is as an overnight diaper. They are much more absorbent than any other type of cloth diaper I have tried at night, but not all fitteds pass the overnight test. They come in a wide range of prices, however, I have found that you get what you pay for when it comes to nighttime.
If you have a heavy-wetter, these diapers are for you! Here are the top 5 fitteds I have found.
1. Sustainablebabyish Overnight Bamboo Fleece Fitted
Sustainablebabyish fitteds are my absolute favorite of all time, so I definitely had to give them the number one spot! I have never had a leak with them–ever!
These diapers are made from 70{9994046f29331ee04cc0b5e07eb28364315ea03ccc2f01b5a43e8b85b372d1e9} bamboo viscose and 30{9994046f29331ee04cc0b5e07eb28364315ea03ccc2f01b5a43e8b85b372d1e9} organic cotton and consist of an outer shell with a double-length snap in soaker that can be folded to amplify absorbency where it is needed most. It also comes with an additional 3-layer fleece doubler to give a little extra absorbency on top of the soaker pads.
This is a seriously high-quality fitted. The only downside to the Sustainablebabyish fitteds is that they are not one-size, meaning you will need to order more sizes as your baby grows. However, there are a lot of perks to sized diapers–there is a reason they are made! They often offer a more precise fit, and they have the potential to give even more absorbency in the bigger sizes than you may be able to get in a one-size fitted.
Price-wise, this diaper trends a little bit higher than a mid-range fitted ($$$).

2. Twinkie Tush Night-Night Fusion Wind Pro Fitted
Twinkie Tush Night-Night Fusion Wind Pro Fitted is probably the most top of the line fitted available. It gets my number 2 spot only because the price is a little heftier than the average cloth diaper parent will want to spend, but if you are not cloth diapering to save money, then it is an excellent choice. There will be no leaks with this diaper!
This one-size diaper is made from both bamboo and poly fleece. This diaper has an incredible soaker system that offers up to 15 layers of absorbency. It is very stretchy and gives a comfortable fit.
The level of care and detail that goes into these diapers makes the price more understandable. You have two options for the stitching: The first option is a turned finish, meaning it is stitched inside-out, turned, and then given a top-stitch for reinforcement. The second option is a serged finish, meaning it was done with a serger machine, 4 spools of thread, and 2 needles.
The options are equal in quality, it’s just a matter of preference. I personally prefer the look the turned finish gives, but it doesn’t matter what you choose. Either way, you can tell that this is one finely-made diaper.
Price wise, this is a pretty high-end diaper ($$$).

3. Thirsties Natural One Size Fitted
The Thirsties Natural One-Size Fitted offers a great deal of absorbency with 11-layers of bamboo-cotton. There is also a newborn size available for those interested.
This diaper is made from 70{9994046f29331ee04cc0b5e07eb28364315ea03ccc2f01b5a43e8b85b372d1e9} Rayon from bamboo and 30{9994046f29331ee04cc0b5e07eb28364315ea03ccc2f01b5a43e8b85b372d1e9} cotton. The soakers snap in and out for easy washing and faster drying time. The elastic at the legs and waist is gentle on the baby and helps prevent leaks.
The Thirsties Natural Fitted gives a narrow fit that fits easily inside a cover. It is incredibly soft and stays soft even after being washed many times. This is an awesome diaper that will work great for heavy wetters.
Pricing wise, this is a middle-of-the-road fitted. ($$)

4. Imagine Baby OS Bamboo Fitted
Imagine Baby Bamboo Fitteds offer both a newborn sized option and a one-size option. They are a popular choice due to how easy they are to get and their economical price point. Imagine Baby Fitteds offer a good amount of absorbency and are a great option for families that want to try out fitteds before they drop a lot of money. I do like these a lot, but I will say the first 3 fitteds in this list are more absorbent.
This diaper is soft and stretchy and is great quality even though it is much cheaper than the prior diapers listed. Made from 100{9994046f29331ee04cc0b5e07eb28364315ea03ccc2f01b5a43e8b85b372d1e9} bamboo viscose, it has snap-in soakers that offer more absorbency but can be easily removed to help the diaper dry faster after being washed.
Price wise, this diaper is very economical ($).

5. Nicki’s Diapers Bamboo Overnight Fitted
I have used many Nicki’s Diapers brand products and I have always been so impressed with the quality for the price that they are. They are a great go-to brand for those on a budget (or not! Anyone will love these diapers, even if you have tons of cash).
Nicki’s Diapers Bamboo Overnight Fitted is an awesome choice for those looking to get some fitteds on a tight budget. The amount of absorbency offered compared to the price is pretty awesome.
This one-size diaper is also made from 100{9994046f29331ee04cc0b5e07eb28364315ea03ccc2f01b5a43e8b85b372d1e9} bamboo viscose and has a snap in soaker, much like the Imagine Baby fitted. It is very soft and an excellent overnight option for moderate to slightly heavy wetters.
This diaper is priced for the best value you can get. ($)

Roomy covers work well with fitteds, in my opinion. Here are my favorites:

First of all these fitted cloth diapers are adorable. My niece is having a baby and I wanted to get her something that she will use but also other may not think of. I hate the idea of all the diapers that go to waste. Now, I just need to decide which one to go with. Thanks for the information!

Very nice post. First let me start by saying As a newbie in this business I have learnt one thing from your style of presenting your articles which is your sincerity in what your niche is about to the audience. You made everyone know that this has affiliate links and now people would know and will want to use your link if they wanted to buy. Because normally the could exit your page and search for themselves later. Nice open strategy. Back to the topic, I have a new born nephew and I would be pleased to send this link to my uncle. The wife would totally love this
Thanks! Hope your uncle finds this helpful!
As new parents there’s always the fear about welcoming a new baby. Most times, such parents are not prepared for the task of becoming parents.
Such parents would really find this article about diapers very useful. Thank you for taking your time to write such an enlightening article. We young parents are really grateful.
Your choice of Sustainablebabyish Overnight Bamboo Fleece Fitted as the number one is a good choice. They are more expensive than others but if you face the inconvenience of leakage and baby discomfort you will eventually realize that they are affordable. I prefer it over others any day. Thank for the review
Thanks, I agree!

They are great diapers!!
Hey ,
Thanks for sharing this amazing article with us . I know cloth diapers seem daunting at first . When I got started , I could not make heads or tails of what I was supposed to do . But once I tried out a few different types and brands , I quickly learned to love them and I can not imagine myself ever going back to disposables now . I am confident that you will be able to find the best cloth diapers for your baby’s bottom .
I agree! They seem so much more intimidating than they really are. Doesn’t take too long to get the hang of them and then you’re on your way!
Hey Holly,
I love your site. It’s so good to see that someone else is also doing a cloth diapering site. I have a cloth diapering site and this gives me more ideas for areas to cover.
I have a child who was a heavy wetter when he was young. I just about went crazy trying to figure out what to do to solve this problem so I didn’t have leaks. Know I know so thank you so much. I will also bookmark your site for reference.
Sometimes people will start out cloth diapering to save money but unforseen things such as uncontrollable heavy wetting may end up costing more.
Elaine
Thanks, Elaine! I’m so glad to meet another cloth diapering enthusiast. 🙂
I’m not a father, but I hope I could be someday. I would recommend these fitted cloth diapers to my nephew and niece who both have babies if express interest in using cloth. I know they need it because they are all working outside their homes and are usually tired and they need enough rest. These can help them because I believe it minimizes their time in attending the baby when awakened by peeing at night. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks! Hope they find it helpful.
Hi Holly Lee,
Thank you for writing this informative article. I cannot find the details about the Overnight Diapering Problems. Every mother tries to be aware of the health of the child. Now at this time, everyone is very busy outside the house and wants to know how to care for cloth diapers without much time and energy. So now almost everyone uses disposable diapers more often, but I like the sound of Thirsties Natural. This easy-to-use cloth diaper contains 11 layers of natural fibers. It looks very good for easy washing and quick drying. I think it can be purchased by all parents for their child because the original is relatively much less. I will share this article with my family and friends. Thank you.
